José Ignacio López is the President of ANIF (Asociación Nacional de Instituciones Financieras). He holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s in Economics from the University of California, as well as a Master’s degree in Economics and a B.A. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes. His academic work has been published in several specialized journals, and he has taught at HEC Paris and at the Faculty of Economics at Universidad de los Andes, reflecting a strong commitment to research and economic education.

Before assuming his current role, Dr. López served as Executive Director of Economic Research at Corficolombiana, where, under his leadership, the research team earned multiple awards for its analysis of the Colombian economy. He has also worked as an economist at ANIF and as Chief Economist at Banco Santander. In 2023, Forbes included him among the 30 most influential economists in Colombia, underscoring his impact on national economic discourse and policy analysis.
