José Arrieta is the former Chief Information Officer and Chief Data Officer of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, where he oversaw $15.2 billion in IT investments, $800 billion in grants, and $26 billion in federal contracts. He led cybersecurity operations supporting more than 174,000 users across a global network transacting with over 160 countries, strengthening digital resilience at one of the largest civilian agencies in government.
A nationally recognized modernization leader, José directed some of the government’s most ambitious technology transformation efforts. He helped lead the nation’s largest public health surveillance initiative, applying supervised machine learning to predict pandemic hot spots and optimize resource distribution.
