While nearly 70 percent of the planet is covered by water, only two and a half percent is freshwater, and only one percent is accessible. In the United States, industrial water use is second only to agriculture, and current industrial water reuse offsets only a fraction of these withdrawals. By using recycled water to meet production, manufacturing, and operational needs, businesses can advance sustainability goals and reduce costs, while helping communities protect critical water resources. At the same time, municipalities can support business growth by providing sustainable water supplies through water recycling.

Nevertheless, investments in water reuse systems can be economically challenging for companies and communities, preventing more widespread implementation of these best practices. Federal policy solutions, such as an industrial water reuse tax credit, can provide incentives for more companies to invest in and adopt water recycling and reuse.

Join us on January 9th, 2024 starting at 11:00 AM to learn about how industrial water recycling supports advanced clean manufacturing, well-paying high-skill employment opportunities, and environmental protection.
