Antwaun Griffin currently serves as the Chief of Staff at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). In this role, Mr. Griffin is be the primary senior executive advisor to the SBA Administrator on program and policy matters of national scope and impact. Prior to his appointment as Chief of Staff, Antwaun served as the Chief Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce on pandemic response and economic recovery programs. He worked with internal and external stakeholders including the White House COVID-19 Task Force, the National Economic Council, and the White House Domestic Policy Council, and industry leaders to develop policy guidance relating to workplace/worker safety, domestic and international travel, and supply chain resiliency.

Mr. Griffin previously served in the Obama Administration at the Department of Commerce and at the SBA. As Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce at the International Trade Administration (ITA), he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the U.S. Commercial Service’s 108 Export Assistance Centers working closely with U.S. Embassies and Consulates worldwide to help American businesses develop or fine-tune their global growth strategies. As a Senior Advisor at SBA, Antwaun worked across the Obama administration to ensure that SBA offices were advised of program and policy changes which impacted small businesses including The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, The Small Business Jobs Act, and The Affordable Care Act.

Prior to joining the Biden-Harris Administration, Mr. Griffin was a Senior Advisor for GOTV on the Biden For President campaign. In this role, he coordinated with the Biden for President Coalitions and Political teams on outreach to key stakeholders, particularly communities of color.

Antwaun is a native of Richmond, Virginia, and a graduate of the University of Virginia.
