Equality of Opportunity in Action: Diversity in Business and Law 

Event Description 

This discussion will explore ILR’s mission, our strategies for building diversity in the field of corporate law, and how we are working to connect these goals with the next generation of students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

 

ILR President Harold Kim will kick off the program with a fireside chat. Then, U.S. Chamber’s Senior Vice President for Strategic Alliances and Outreach, Rick Wade, will host a panel of legal industry experts to discuss the importance of diversity in the workplace, explore some of ILR’s key issues, and provide a forum for HBCU students to connect with leaders in the business community. The program will conclude with Q&A.

 

Confirmed speakers include, Former Attorney General of Georgia Thurbert Baker, Partner, Dentons; Markus Green, Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, Pfizer; Danielle Holley-Walker, Professor of Law and Dean of Howard Law School; Susie Lees Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, Allstate Insurance Company; and Kim Phillips, General Counsel, Global Litigation, Shell Oil Company.
