Dr. Ronak Mehta is the founder and CEO of Nerdbugs and board-certified Family Medicine/Obesity Medicine physician.

She is a former Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine and Public Health. Ronak is one of NPR’s How I Built This fellows and Nerdbugs, her plush toy company, was a finalist for Amazon’s Women- Owned Small Business of the Year.

After completing residency training in Family Medicine at Cook County/Loyola University, Dr. Mehta pursued an Integrative Medicine Fellowship in Washington, DC. During her time at Cook County/Loyola University, Dr. Mehta developed a strong appreciation of the pivotal role of education in supporting patients.

After a brief stint in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2019, she moved back to her native state of Wisconsin to work with the Department of Family Medicine physician at the University of Wisconsin. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is also certified in Obesity Medicine.

Since launching Nerdbugs in 2018, she has built an incredible international presence with Nerdbugs and has been featured in Forbes, Business Insider, NPR, Madison, WI's top 40 under 40. She has been featured on TV news channels and podcasts and has partnered with several medical organizations to support awareness initiatives with Nerdbugs.
