Ryan Benson is a Florida homebuilder, business owner, and housing policy leader with more than two decades of experience in residential construction, development, and public policy.

Benson currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, Florida’s affordable and workforce housing finance and policy agency. He was appointed to the board by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2019, confirmed by the Florida Senate in 2020, and reconfirmed in 2024. He previously served as Chairman of the Board in 2024.

In 2025, Benson served as President and Chairman of the Florida Home Builders Association, representing Florida’s residential construction industry and its more than 8,000 members. He continues to serve on the association’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors and has held numerous statewide and national leadership roles focused on housing, construction, workforce development, resiliency, and public policy.

Benson is co-owner of A. Vernon Allen Builder, a luxury custom homebuilding firm with more than 75 years of experience building and redeveloping homes throughout Southwest Florida. Based in Naples, the company specializes in high-end custom residences in Port Royal and other coastal communities, giving Benson firsthand experience with the challenges facing housing construction, including land use, permitting, workforce availability, construction costs, insurance, and resiliency.

Through his work in both the private and public sectors, Benson brings a builder’s perspective to the broader conversation about how policy, capital, regulation, and the construction industry can work together to expand housing opportunities and meet the needs of Florida’s growing communities.
