Craig Cipriano leads STV’s national zero emissions fleet transformation practice.

He joined the firm in February 2023 as senior vice president and national director of zero emissions mobility where he leverages his unique experience to guide large-scale bus fleet and infrastructure programs. Focused on zero-emission bus (ZEB) and fleet transformations and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) technologies, he advises STV clients on practical solutions and strategies to deliver sustainable, equitable and carbon-free transportation systems.

Cipriano, is a national thought leader with over 37 years of experience planning and executing large-scale, multi-dimensional fleet and infrastructure programs for public transit systems. He served as President of New York City’s MTA Bus Company, leading the nation’s largest bus transit agency through the pandemic, and setting its strategy to a zero emission’s fleet by 2040. He served as Interim President of New York City Transit and permanent Chief Operating Officer, leading 50,000 employees at the largest public transportation agency in North America with an operating budget of $13 billion.

Since Joining STV, Craig has published two articles for Mass Transit Magazine: “Why Zero Emissions Fleet Transformation Starts at the Top” and “Expert Insight: Safety priorities when implementing zero-emissions technology” as well as being a featured author in the SAE published book “The New Future of Public Transportation”.

He sits on the advisory board of Rutgers University’s Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Research Center and earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University and a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from Rutgers University.
