Carolina Lasso Navarro joined the EU Delegation to the United States in September 2022 as counsellor for Development Affairs and International Partnerships. She is responsible for enhancing coordination and cooperation with the U.S. and the Washington based multilateral development banks in the implementation of the EU Global Gateway strategy.
Before moving to Washington D.C., she worked as Political Assistant to the Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations leading on the design of the EU Global Gateway flagships and Economic and Investment Plan (EIP) for the North of Africa.
Carolina started her career in the EU institutions in 2003, working first on economic and trade development assistance to Latin America and the Caribbean and, later on, as team leader for EU Enlargement Negotiations and relations with the Southern Neighbourhood.
Before joining the EU institutions, she worked at EUROCHAMBRES, the European Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry where she was in charge of the private sector development projects in the Latin America and Caribbean region.
