Erik Granskog is the Founder and CEO of Milele Energy, a Nairobi-based independent power-generation company established in 2019 with activities across sub-Saharan Africa, including an stake in Africa’s largest wind farm, the 310 MW Lake Turkana Wind Power project. Erik has over 25 years of experience in developing, structuring, financing, and managing over 4,300MW and $5.2BN of renewable and conventional energy investments worldwide. Prior to launching Milele, Erik was Managing Director for Africa at GE Capital based in Nairobi. Erik led the team responsible for the execution of new investment opportunities in support of GE sales in Africa.
Prior to joining GE in Africa, Erik was Vice President – Commercial Management at Atlantic Power in Boston, where he managed the company’s development and growth activities. Erik also held senior positions at General Electric overseeing the development of wind power projects in the US and at Michigan -based CMS Energy leading project development activities in Africa and the US.
Erik holds a BA in Economics from the University of Rhode Island and MBA in Finance from the American University in Washington DC.
