Paul Hinks is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Symbion Group, a US power investor that develops, finances, constructs and operates electrical power infrastructure in the developing world. In Africa, the Group has so far invested in 1,400 MW of generation capacity and constructed over 3,000 kms of transmission and distribution. Based in New York City, the organization is one of the largest US investors in the power sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Its latest venture MyHydro, develops large-scale distributed hydropower solutions for Africa, that are scalable, and provide 24/7, affordable power for off-the-grid customers using next-gen technologies from the United States.

As the driving force behind The Symbion Group, Paul has spent his entire working life in the power industry. His career spans 40 years where he has worked in the United Kingdom, the United States, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Additionally, Paul is currently Chairman of Invest Africa US, a leading business and investment platform that provides its members with information and exposure to investment opportunities in Africa.
