Matt leads Uber’s engagement with governments and strategic business partners across more than 75 countries worldwide. He advises Uber's CEO on issues spanning new market entry; mergers and acquisitions; regulatory reform; and geopolitical risk. His responsibilities include overseeing special situations, including the company’s global response to the COVID pandemic and the war in Ukraine. Prior to Uber, Matt worked on political and economic reform across Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Matt holds a BA in history from Yale, a MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a law degree from Yale Law School. He is a David Rockefeller Fellow at the Trilateral Commission, a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the International Crisis Group’s Ambassador Council, and a keen rugby player. Matt lives in New York with his wife and young daughter.
