Speaker Bio

Nicholas E. Calio is President and CEO of Airlines for America (A4A), the trade association for the country’s leading passenger and cargo airlines.  

Under his leadership, A4A works to shape legislative policies and regulatory priorities that improve aviation for the traveling and shipping public. Calio works collaboratively with airlines, labor unions, Congress and the Administration to promote safety, security, sustainability and a strong U.S. airline industry. 

Prior to joining A4A in 2011, Calio was Citigroup’s executive vice president for Global Government Affairs. Previously, he was Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs for President George W. Bush and President George H.W. Bush. Between Administrations, Calio was a partner at O’Brien*Calio, a law and lobbying firm he co-founded in 1993.   

Calio graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University where he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
