Justin Brownlee leads an organization that includes a crew force of 5,500 pilots operating a fleet of almost 400 trunk aircraft that deliver to 220 countries and territories around the world. Justin’s role was expanded in 2024 to include oversight of the Global Operations Control and Network Planning teams and the Global Network Design and Engineering team. These teams collaborate to ensure FedEx is delivering with an optimized network.

In his previous role as SVP of Aviation, Safety, Technology, and Business Operations, Justin oversaw the Aviation Safety and Airworthiness organization and led the team that is responsible for the continued modernization of airline IT systems and research and development efforts that support the latest innovations in aviation technology.

In previous officer and other leadership roles, Justin was responsible for aircraft heavy maintenance planning and execution, maintenance operations control, and FedEx propulsion programs. He started his career at FedEx as an engineer in Powerplant Engineering.

A 26-year industry veteran and four-time recipient of the prestigious FedEx Express Five Star Award, Justin earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn. Justin also serves on the board of directors for Orbis International, an organization battling preventable blindness globally using the MD-10 Flying Eye Hospital and other technologies.
