The increasing frequency and severity of weather events are putting pressure on the insurance sector to respond.  Advances in Earth observation technology, including high-resolution radar imagery are enabling the insurance industry to measure events on the ground in ways that have not been possible before, and opening the door to new coverage approaches that include parametric insurance. The panel will discuss the potential this new model has close the “protection gap” in communities vulnerable to flood and wildfires.
