Mr. Wallinger is a Board Director, President, Founder, and CEO of York Space Systems (York). York was founded in 2012 to radically improve spacecraft affordability and deployment speed, in order to fundamentally transform space architectures and position the American space industrial base for the future. Today, York is a leading provider in disaggregated space solutions and is a critical contributor to the next-generation proliferated space architectures. York was one of the first contractors selected by the Space Development Agency and is now developing satellites for the agency’s Transport Layer Tranche 0
constellation, Transport 1 constellation, T1DES constellation, and T2 Alpha constellation. York was also chosen by NOAA to design the overall architecture structure for potential future mission systems for the agency’s future Earth observation constellation. York is the 2nd largest provider of spacecraft to the U.S.
government by quantity, while also growing the commercial industry through execution on numerous commercial contracts. York’s Harbinger S-CLASS satellite, a mission sponsored by the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, is the first U.S. military small satellite artifact to be collected and displayed as a permanent artifact at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, chosen because it was identified by the museum as a “perfect representation of revolutionary advancement in space technology.”
Mr. Wallinger has guided York since its founding growing revenues and headcount by triple digits, year-over-year, for the last 4 years, transforming the company from a single person start-up into a multi-billion dollar leading global aerospace technology company. He has executed numerous strategic and long-term
partnerships, both domestic and international, with industry leaders including Jet Propulsion Laboratory,
Sumitomo, Ruag, Terma, Army Space and Missile Defense Command, AAC Clyde, and the Netherlands
Space Office.
Mr. Wallinger is also the Founder of the York Foundation, a non-profit 501(c) committed to the education of
underprivileged youths. He created the Foundation to help those without financial resources, having himself
dealt with the tremendous challenges facing youths, without any financial means, trying to educate themselves in hopes of a better future. The York Foundation provides scholarships, tutoring, books, financial aid planning, and meal assistance to its scholars selected each year, based on need.
