                                                    Martin Hansen is Head of Regulatory Policy at Liberty Mutual, where he leads the development of enterprise-wide regulatory and legislative policy positions and supports Liberty in engagements with state insurance departments, the NAIC, Federal Insurance Office, and international standard-setting bodies, including the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.
Martin joined Liberty after serving as Senior Managing Director at AIG, where he led regulatory policy and strategy and represented the company in domestic and international regulatory forums. Previously, he held senior research and credit policy roles at Fitch Ratings. He began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he worked directly on Basel Committee policy initiatives.
Martin’s research has been cited in leading financial media (e.g. Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Risk), official sector studies, and academic and industry journals. He received his AB from Princeton University cum laude and MA from the Fletcher School (Tufts University), where he studied international economics and finance.
