Lance Slater serves as the Director of Resilience and Sustainability for the City of Mobile, Alabama, where he leads efforts to embed resilience across the city’s environmental, economic, and infrastructure systems. Appointed in May 2024, Slater brings over three years of experience with the city, having previously managed major initiatives such as Brookley by the Bay and the Three Mile Creek Watershed Restoration Project. He holds certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP) and Qualified Credentialed Inspector – Stormwater, and is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In his current role, Slater oversees the development of Mobile’s Resilience Plan, informed by a city-wide assessment, and leads strategic initiatives including hazard mitigation, emergency response planning, energy efficiency, and sustainability programs like the Litter-Free Mobile campaign and recycling expansion.
