Tom Quillin leads Security & Trust Policy for Intel Corporation, working with global policymakers and the technology industry on policies that advance trust in technology from 5G to IoT to AI, and on increasing security innovation, supply chain security, security assurance and business growth.
Tom joined Intel Corporation in 1998 as a product manager for Intel’s motherboard manufacturing operation. Tom went on to develop strategies for Intel to support innovation while reducing costs, as computing supply chains started shifting to the east. Tom built a deep understanding of the supply chain for information and communication technology equipment. Since 2003, Tom has played key roles shaping Intel’s focus on security in its products and technology development efforts. Tom led corporate-wide strategic planning efforts security technologies integrated into Intel’s hardware and software. Tom also served as CTO Security Economics at McAfee LLC, consulting security and IT leaders on how to predict and measure risk and security outcomes.
Tom leads Intel’s participation and direction in several public/private efforts on supply chain security and represents Intel for Oregon’s Cybersecurity Advisory Council. Tom earned his undergraduate degree at University of Iowa and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
