With more than 25 years of finance experience, Kris develops long-term relationships with families and business owners to provide tailored tax solutions, including tax compliance, tax controversy, and tax planning.

Recognized with the 2025 Best of Block Award and the 2023 Henry Bloch Excellence in Client Service Award, Kris has built the largest tax practice in New York at Block Advisors. He has been repeatedly recognized for excellence as a tax instructor for continuing education courses, including on the taxation of trusts and estates.

Kris has been appointed Vice Chair of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC), and he serves on the Small Business and Self-Employed subgroup. The IRSAC is a volunteer Federal advisory body to the IRS Commissioner and executive leadership.

Kris began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he helped build a new proprietary trading effort. Serving as an advisor to investors and entrepreneurs, he founded consultancy Helix Management.

An active volunteer for Harvard, he has been recognized with the Joseph Hamlen Award for his service as Chair of the Community Engagement Fund and Co-Chair of the Participation Committee for his class’ 25th Reunion Campaign, which set class records for fundraising and participation. Kris serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) PAC. At CFA Society New York, he served as Chair of the Board of Directors and was recognized as a Volunteer of the Year.

Kris received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics cum laude from Harvard College, his Certificate in Income Tax Planning and Reporting from New York University, and his Master’s of Science in Taxation (MST) degree from Baruch College Zicklin School of Business.

He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), and Enrolled Agent (EA) designations. Prior to his business life, Kris was a principal investigator for experiments on two Space Shuttle missions.
