Andrew Patterson is the Global Manager of Business Development and
Business Manager of Heavy Civil for Bechtel Infrastructure.
Andrew has over 21 years’ experience in the industry. Throughout his
21-year career at Bechtel, he has served in various senior management
and project execution leadership roles, including regional president for
Africa, business development, commercial, construction, design, and
contracts management. These roles extend to global businesses and sectors in Bechtel’s
Infrastructure and Mining & Metals units.
From 2015 to 2019, Andrew was the regional president for Africa. Prior to 2015, Andrew was the
Infrastructure sector manager for Roads, Bridges, Hydro, and Industrial Cities, supporting the
delivery of projects and structuring new projects around the world.
In 2010, Andrew was the commercial manager for the Kosovo motorway project. Prior to that, he
worked as a business development manager, supporting projects in Middle East, Asia, Australia,
Africa, South America and Europe. He also led a civil construction team on Bechtel’s first project in
Iceland, an aluminum smelter.
Andrew served on the U.S. President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa, between 2016
through 2021. Additionally, he served on the UK Department of International Trade Africa
Committee from 2017 through 2019.
Andrew has a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering management from Oregon State
University.
