The U.S. Chamber of Commerce invites you to:

Welcome luncheon in honor of H.E. Tanee Sangrat Ambassador of Thailand to the United States

Friday, January 20, 2023, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Please join us for a luncheon to welcome H.E. Tanee Sangrat, the newly-arrived Ambassador of Thailand to the United States.  Ambassador Tanee will discuss current developments in the US-Thai relationship, and goals for his tenure as Ambassador.  For his part, he would like to hear U.S. companies’ perspectives on Thailand’s investment climate and recommendations for maintaining and enhancing its competitiveness.  As 2023 marks the 190th anniversary of US-Thai relations, this discussion will be especially timely.

A career diplomat, Ambassador Tanee most recently served as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman from 2020-2022, and during Thailand’s APEC host year in 2022, oversaw a national communication campaign to ensure the success of Thailand’s chairmanship.  Prior to that, he served as Thailand’s Ambassador to Vietnam.  He has also previously served two assignments in the United States; as Consul-General in Los Angeles, and as Political Counselor at the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington.  In addition, he has served as Deputy DG for Southeast Asian Affairs at the Ministry, and as a consular and economic officer in Malaysia.  He has worked on migration, and multilateral issues, including an assignment at the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Tanee holds a BA in political science from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a Master of Public and International Affairs from University of Pittsburgh.

This luncheon is by invitation only. Seating is limited, and registration is required.
