Digital Economy Task Force- June 21

Event Description

Please join the U.S.-Africa Business Center’s Digital Economy Task Force for a taskforce meeting on June 21 at 9:00 am EDT. Special guests for the meeting will be leaders of the U.S. government’s Digital Africa initiative steering committee, who will provide an off-the-record update on consultations of the digital Africa initiative that is in development as a signature program to support digital transformation on the continent. Officials from the National Security Council, State Department, Commerce Department, U.S. Agency for International Development and U.S. Trade & Development Agenda will provide an overview as well as well as the current design thinking around the three important components for engagement: enabling regulatory environment for digital economy, human capital development and entrepreneurship, and digital services and infrastructure.

The Center’s Digital Economy Task Force advocates for the development of robust digital economies, including in the e-commerce and creative sectors, and promotes the enabling policy environment that fosters innovation, supports advanced manufacturing, telehealth, the seamless flow of data, and a connected financial services industry. Members are invited to register to participate in the meeting. This is an opportunity for experts from the private sector and partner organizations to provide insights into the challenges and opportunities companies have experienced fields that touch on the digital economy.
