According to the U.S. Joint Economic Committee, more than 3 million Black-owned businesses contribute over $200 billion to our economy annually and employ about 1.2 million Americans. Black entrepreneurs and business owners are job creators, anchors in our communities, and threads in the fabric of our society. In recent years, there has been a rise in Black-owned businesses with a growing number of young people joining the entrepreneurship ranks. Guidant Financial reports that 49% of new entrepreneurs are Gen X; 21% are Millennials; and 3% are Gen Z.
