Hill BRIEFING: The Economic and Geopolitical Impact of U.S. LNG Exports, Featuring Dan Yergin
Event Description
Please join us on Capitol Hill for an in-person briefing featuring Daniel Yergin, Vice Chairman of S&P Global. The session will highlight the release of S&P’s Global’s new report, Price and Economic Impacts of an Accelerating Export Industry: A U.S. LNG Impact Study, supported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This important new study analyzes how the U.S. liquified natural gas (LNG) industry has become one of the most consequential economic and geopolitical forces in the world.
U.S. LNG exports are on track to make the industry the nation's second-largest net export sector, supporting over 550,000 jobs and contributing $1.4 trillion in economic output through 2040. Crucially, this historic growth has occurred while having a negligible impact on U.S. household gas prices, which remain among the most affordable globally. Furthermore, U.S. LNG now supplies 30% of the global market, bolstering energy security for European allies by providing a reliable alternative ahead of the EU's 2027 ban on Russian gas.
