“No Crystal Ball Needed: Keeping America Safe & Open” will focus on helping mitigate a resurgence of COVID-19, including recommendations for keeping Americans safe and healthy and measures to keep the economy open for business. With cases rising in states across the country, we are at a pivotal moment in our nation’s fight against the pandemic, and this event will rally, inform, and arm business leaders to lead the charge in their respective communities.

When COVID-19 first arrived in the U.S., communities were forced to resort to drastic measures and sweeping economic shutdowns, as they unpacked medical data and recommendations in real time. Today, we as a nation have made significant progress in learning how to slow the spread and keep the economy going while keeping America safe and healthy.

Across the event, we will discuss lessons learned from Europe as well as communities across the U.S. that have successfully adapted their government and business models to meet the challenge of the pandemic. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce will also share best practices for slowing the spread, while helping businesses remain operational and keep their customers and employees safe. This framework will provide actionable steps businesses and communities can take to tailor prevention measures to their needs, ideally avoiding the total shutdowns we experienced earlier this year.
