Roundtable Discussion on McKinsey Global Institute's Recent Report: Global Flows, Supply Chains, and the Interconnected World

Tuesday, January 10, 2023
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (UTC-04:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Please join the China Center for an off-the-record discussion with Jonathan Woetzel, Director of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) and Senior Partner of McKinsey's Shanghai office. Dr. Woetzel, who resides in Shanghai, will be transiting to Washington briefly, so we are excited to have this in-person opportunity with him on a critically important report that illuminates important trends in flows of capital, goods, and data in the wake of the pandemic, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and rising geopolitical tensions in Asia and the Middle East.

Dr. Woetzel will provide an overview of MGI's recent report addressing how multinational corporations can be instrumental in reimagining global connections amid persistent and growing supply chain vulnerabilities.

Jonathan Woetzel has been instrumental in building McKinsey's China office. In addition to his work helping Chinese and other Asian businesses prepare for global growth, Dr. Woetzel is a director of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), McKinsey's business and economics research arm. He also leads McKinsey's Cities Special Initiative and is responsible for convening McKinsey's work with city, regional, and national authorities in more than 40 geographies around the world. Dr. Woetzel has led numerous research efforts on global economic trends, including growth and productivity, urbanization, affordable housing, energy and sustainability, e-commerce, and the economic impact of the Internet, as well as on productivity growth and economic development in China and Asia. He has advised national governments in Asia on improving the environment for foreign investors, national energy policy, and economic development strategies.

This event will have limited spaces available at Chamber Headquarters for Members wishing to attend in person.

This event will be closed press/off-the-record. If you need assistance with registration, please contact Isaac Schlager at ischlager@uschamber.com.
