The U.S. Department of Commerce and Power Africa will host a roundtable with Andre de Ruyter, CEO of Eskom, South Africa’s electric utility, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM on March 7th, 2022 at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Washington, DC.  The event marks the first visit of Mr. de Ruyter to the United States in his current capacity and he will be accompanied by Ms. Mandy Rambharos, General Manager in Eskom’s Just Energy Transition Office.  Discussion will center around Eskom’s role in South Africa’s just energy transition planning and the lessons that can be derived from the U.S. electricity market.

This will be an opportunity for participating sector experts and representatives from U.S. utilities to share American energy transition experiences and for U.S. companies to provide practical examples of how they have contributed toward the evolution of the American energy sector.
