Dear Members,
The U.S. Chamber’s Southeast Asia Program is pleased to invite you to a private, off-the-record discussion with U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Robert Godec. Ambassador Godec will discuss recent political developments post Thailand's general elections, and what those changes may mean for the country’s economic policy directions and priorities.
Robert F. Godec was confirmed by the Senate as Ambassador to Thailand on August 4, 2022. This is his third ambassadorship; he previously served as Ambassador to Kenya from 2013 to 2019 and Ambassador to Tunisia from 2006 to 2009. Other recent positions include acting Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs and Senior Coordinator for Afghanistan in the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.
Ambassador Godec was also Deputy Commandant and International Affairs Advisor at the National War College, the State Department’s Principal Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, and Deputy Coordinator for the Transition in Iraq.
