In January 2018, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) implemented the SABER system, a mandatory electronic certification and conformity assessment system for all imported goods entering Saudi Arabia.

The U.S. Chamber is convening a meeting with the U.S. government to discuss SABER and issues that have arisen since it's implementation, provide updates about the system and advocacy efforts around problems faced by industry, and collect further input from companies about their experiences and challenges with the system.
