Investors and the Markets First

Event Description

Please join us in-person at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at 8:00am – 10:30am on Tuesday, June 25th, for a conversation with Jay Clayton, Senior Policy Advisor and Of Counsel, Sullivan & Cromwell, to discuss the SEC’s rulemaking agenda, how the agency is approaching policymaking, and what this means for our capital markets.

This event will be cohosted with the Managed Funds Association, the American Investment Council, the National Venture Capital Association, the Investment Company Institute, and the Business Roundtable. Our organizations will release a new whitepaper that documents our concerns with the SEC’s agenda, explains the significance of how federal courts view lawsuits challenging certain regulations, and that recommends reforms to improve how the agency approaches rulemaking.

We will be joined by the following experts in capital markets policy and administrative law for this discussion:

  • Tom Quaadman, Executive Vice President, Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness
  • Dorothy Donohue, Deputy General Counsel-Securities Regulation, Investment Company Institute
  • Rebekah Goshorn Jurata, General Counsel, American Investment Council
