SIDO Around the World Reception
Event Description
On Wednesday, April 2, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will host the international trade directors from the 50 U.S. states and territories for an “Around the World” networking reception from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in our Lee Anderson Room. The event will emphasize the importance of foreign direct investment, trade with key allies, and partnership with local governments.
This event is in collaboration with the State International Development Organizations (SIDO), the premier organization that represents local level international trade agencies. State trade agencies are critical to assisting companies with export activities and working to attract foreign direct investment. The reception is a unique opportunity to meet with respective trade directors — many of whom will be returning from foreign trade missions — and international experts in one place and connect you with regional partners, businesses and other stakeholders.
This reception is intended to fall within the widely attended event exception to the House and Senate gift rules. Executive branch employees should obtain written permission to attend this event from their designated agency ethics office and email a copy of the permission to Lilly Fair at lfair@uschamber.com prior to the event. We are expecting attendees from the private sector, U.S. House, U.S. Senate, Executive Branch, and embassies.
We would be honored if you could join us. Please reach out if you have any questions.
