U.S.-Türkiye Business Forum: Prioritizing Resilient Partnerships

The devastating February 6 earthquakes in the southeastern region of Türkiye and northern Syria have activated the strong partnership between NATO Allies the Republic of Türkiye (Turkey) and the United States of America to respond to urgent needs of survivors and plan for future recovery efforts. Nearly a month into earthquake response, these networks have committed $185 million in U.S. government aid and approximately $100 million in corporate support.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's U.S.-Türkiye Business Council, in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchange of Türkiye (TOBB) will host this unique in-person forum in Washington with key stakeholders across sectors. Participants will join this discussion to help outline bilateral cooperation in the crucial next phases of recovery and rebuilding following the devastating earthquakes and looking ahead.

Discussions will focus on the current, emerging and long-term needs to facilitate a robust and resilient recovery. This forum will build on the Chamber’s February 10 Earthquake Aid Coordination Call featuring Turkish Ambassador to the United States Murat Mercan, U.S. Ambassador to Türkiye Jeffry Flake, and USAID, which marked an important first step to organize public-private sector needs, expertise, and financial support. Topics of discussion include partnerships in human and health needs, corporate mobilization of aid, small- and medium-enterprise (SME) resilience, aerospace, defense, energy and infrastructure.
