Reshoring, National Security, & Rare Earth Minerals

Trade tensions between the U.S. and China is putting rare earth minerals in the political spotlight. These minerals play a vital role in several industries, including consumer electronics like cell phones, green technologies such as wind turbines and electric car batteries, medical scanners, and military hardware such as F-35 jet fighters.  Today, China provides most of the world's supply though this may be changing.  The U.S. government lists rare earth minerals as critical to the country's economic and national security and there is a new effort to “re-shore” production here in the U.S. Please join this discussion that will look at efforts to produce rare earth minerals in the U.S. and what that means for U.S. businesses and national security.
